The Final Encounter

Sensing him she turned. He gazed at her intently. She imagined what it would be like for him to gently caress her skin again. He moved closer so he was almost brushing her. She gazed into the eyes of her late lover as he disappeared forever.

“Wait come back my love! You forgot about me!” She cried, desperation coated her words as she looked for her love in the night.

“Then come with me. It’s time.” The voice of her love was clear in her ears.

Before she could ask how she looked down and saw her body laying in the dew ridden grass. She was finally free. She looked up only to see the figure of her love standing before her. He reached for her and took her hand just like before. She smiled because her hand did not go through his. At last they were together again.

The end.
