Mini Story #3- The Plane Crash

I woke up to the sensation of falling. I went to push myself up and found that there was nothing around me but air. My eyes flew open only to be squeezed shut again. The air ripped my hair out of the bun it was in. For a split second I had no idea how I had gotten into this situation.

The last thing I remember is taking a nap in the plane on the way to some place warm. Why am I outside of the plane? How did this happen? Is this how I die?

The wind whistles through my fingers as I glide towards my doom. As I was starting to wonder how long it takes to fall to your death my stomach lurched as I was plucked from the air.

I could not open my eyes to see my rescuer, but they felt solid and their firm grip pinned me to their body. I wrapped my arms around their neck for extra security.

As soon as we touched the ground I peaked open my eyes to see who rescued me. The long wind swept brown hair matched the expression in his wild brown eyes. I recognized his face as the person who sat next to me in the plane. “Thank you,” I spoke and started to move.

“Don’t thank me. I’m not a hero.” His gruff voice spoke firmly as he put me down.

“You are to me I would be dead if you hadn’t grabbed me, but how did you manage to do that?” I rambled not noticing the smirk on his face while I looked around us.

“Well, my people pay more the less damage there is on the body,” he purred, his voice coming up behind me.

“What-” I started to ask but was cut off by a sharp pain in my chest. I tried to inhale, only to find myself gasping.

“It’s nothing personal, darling. You were just on the list,” he crooned as my world faded into darkness.
