Stranger?

Usually, while walking down the street I am very cautious of my surroundings. However, today I was distracted. I had a feeling that something was going to happen but I could not figure out what. I decided to go on a morning walk with my headphones on to try to shake the feeling. I let the music distract me from this feeling and it worked until my iPod died. I glanced down for a moment to zip up my jacket and managed to run into someone. I tried to steady myself but in the process of moving my feel I got caught up on the curb and would have fallen. As I felt my body fall the sensation of strong arms wrapping around my waist pulled me into a solid chest. I looked up to see who had caught me and saw a pair of wide hazel eyes with flecks of gold in them. I had the strangest feeling that I knew him from somewhere.

“I’m so sorry, miss. I don’t usually introduce myself in such a manner but you seem familiar. Have we met?” His tenner voice reminded me of a voice I heard once. Maybe in a dream?

It took me longer than it should to step away from his arms. For some reason I knew I could trust him. “You seem familiar as well but I can’t remember where we have met before. I thought it was just in my head but you feel it too.” I spoke easily and couldn’t help but notice his undeniable attractiveness. Have we met but forgotten?

“It’s your eyes that triggered something your beautiful amber eyes. Anyways are you busy right now?” As his kind voice asked his face lit up with a smile.

I couldn’t help but laugh for a moment which is unlike me, but this man is different. I don’t know why but I trust him. “You’re not from around here are you?” I replied with a smirk.

“That obviously?” He laughed confirming my thoughts.

“You seem like someone who has many stories to tell from his travels. I’m not busy at all.” I noted while answering his question.

“Great. Would you like to get some breakfast or coffee with me? I know I’m just a stranger so I won’t be offended if you said no.” He flashed me another infectious smile.

To my own surprised I heard myself say “Let’s start with coffee and see how things go.” Since when did I accept coffee dates from stranger?

“I like your style. I saw a cafe just down the street. Let’s go there.” He suggested.

“I know a secret place that has the best coffee.” I replied with a smile remembering the place where I work.

“Ah, so you’re from this area?” He noted raising his eyebrows.

“Yes. Don’t bother asking where I live. I won’t tell a stranger.” I assured him while I led the way to the coffee shop where I worked.

“Smart woman,” he answered with a shrug.

Before we made it to the coffee shop there was a loud buzzing that sounded like an engine. We both looked up at the sky to see a ship. It was like nothing I’ve seen before. It looked like huge black triangle.

“I am so sorry about this but I must go. I wish there was more time to figure out how we are familiar.” He sighed and took my hands for a moment. Before I could speak he pressed his lips to mine then pulled me into a hug and whispered “I hope we run into each other again one day.”

“Me too,” I whispered as he ran off into the distance.

Before I could wonder about the unfamiliar ship in the sky and the strange man I woke to the sound of my alarm going off. That time already. I thought to myself as I looked at the large numbers saying six am. I had the strangest feeling that I was forgetting something as I got ready for work.

Thank you everyone for reading! This is just a fun one shot that uses the same characters from my story The Mystery. I hope you have been enjoying!
