Waking Up in Space (3)

“First time in a spaceship?” Oliver smirked on his way by me to take a seat at the front of the ship. Past his seat there was a huge window. Don’t get the wrong idea when I say huge. This window was the entire front of this ship.

“Ahhuh,” I nodded while trying to make sense of the high tech gear that was around the ship which was decades away from anything I’ve seen before. I was training to be an astronaut before the accident happened and everything went to shit.

“If you’ve never been on a spaceship before how did you end up on this planet?” Sébastien asked while taking a seat and motioning for me to sit across from him as Oliver started the take off process.

“All I can remember is waking up on the ground and seeing a bright light flash above me.” I paused to frown for a moment as I tried to remember more details. “One moment I was sleeping in my bed and the next moment I’m not even on the same planet.” I sighed. “I don’t even know how to get home from here.”

“Where is home for you?” Sébastien asked as the ship lifted off of the ground causing my stomach to turn like I was on a roller coaster.

“Earth,” I replied simply while grabbing the edge of the table as we made our quick exit.

“Earth?” They answered in unison. “Where’s that?”

Oh great. I am even farther away from home than I thought. “It’s a planet in The Milky Way that’s a part of the eight other planets in the Solar System.” I elaborated while my stomach twisted into a tighter knot.

“It must be in the uncharted area but I have no idea how far away it is or if we can even make it there.” Oliver thought out loud.

“I can think of someone who might know more than us.” Sébastien mused while speaking slowly.

“She will either think we are joking or know exactly how to get to this Earth planet. Looks like we’re taking a break from blowing things up and going on an adventure.” Oliver half grinned while his eyes brightened with excitement. While throwing some levers forward and pressing a few buttons he yelled “Hold on!” There was a moment where the ship seemed to pause in mid air before shooting forward so fast that my body was pinned against the cushions in the back of my seat. Meanwhile Sébastien’s sheer mass kept him in one place.

I looked up in time to see a planet exploding in the distance for a fraction of a second before seeing a blur of lights. “Wow, this is like something out of a movie. Things like this don’t happen to people like me.” I whispered on awe to myself as I processed all this new information. After a few minutes the ship eased into a steady coasting speed as we traveled to meet with a mystery woman. If you had told me yesterday I was going to be traveling with two complete strangers in a spaceship I would have laughed thinking that you were joking. However, apparently you can go to sleep in your home, as I did every night and wake up in a new galaxy? Universe? Wait where the hell am I if I’m not in The Milky Way.

“So, just so I am on the same page as you two. Where the hell am I if I’m not in The Milky Way? And who are we going to see?” I demanded snapping out of my amazement for a moment.

“You are in the Galtizar Galaxy and were in the Zenta System on the planet Olar. We are going to the Xion System which is in the same Galaxy. We are going to see Elizabeth who has traveled many places. She’s really great. I think you’ll like her.” Sébastien answered calmly.

I noticed that when he spoke her name his cheeks turned a light shade of pink. “Who is Elizabeth to you?” I asked out of curiosity.

“A friend.” Sébastien answered too quickly to be believable.

I remember having a friend that was clearly more than a friend. Once apon a time on a planet that I’m far away from now from a time that feels like a dream now.
